March 19th 2012

The March meeting of the Fostoria Coin Club was called to order at 7:30 PM by President Moran. Both Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were read by respective officers and were approved with no additions or corrections. A get well card for Suzanne Hopkins was circulated during the meeting. Suzanne will be having her 2nd chemo treatment soon. She hopes to be able to attend the March 25th show as she needs to update her Presidential Dollar Set. No other illnesses were reported to the membership

OLD BUSINESS -None discussed

NEW BUSINESS – (1) Treasurer Brandeberry paid $700.00 for the rent of Stacy’s Place for the March 25th Coin Show. This is $100.00 more than last year as the previous contract with the UAW Hall was honored. We have a permanent $300.00 Damage Deposit on file for the hall. This deposit will be held by Stacy’s place as long as we continue to use the facility. The deposit will be returned to FCC if we ever stop renting the hall and no major damage occurs. (2) Second reading for Bill Sharp of Arcadia was given. Although Bill was absent, he received a unanimous vote for membership. Dave and Barbara Knepper brought in four Certified Liberty gold pieces to display. These were a Double Eagle, Eagle, Half and Quarter Eagle coins all graded MS 64.

SHOW BUSINESS –Chairman Otto Blackburn reported that preparations for the show are on track. Raffle ticket sales seem to be going well. All dealer tables have been rented. Set up for the show will be at 5:30 am on Sunday morning. It is important to have plenty of members for set up. (3) President Moran reported that FCC has received literature and applications for the ANA’s upcoming summer seminars if any members are interested.

Door Prizes this month were two 1984 US Mint Uncirculated Sets. Junior prize was won by Jacob Kieffer and senior prize was awarded to Gary Moran. Meeting was adjourned by Gary Phelps with a second by Tom Weisenberger. A 25 lot coin auction was conducted by Denny Hall.
